What ingredients can be found in typical laundry detergent?

To make matters worse, the University of Washington found that top-selling laundry products contain at least one chemical regulated as toxic by the federal government, but they are not included on the label at all.
And while other governments require products like laundry detergents to list fragrance ingredients on the label, the US FDA does not. As many as 26 synthetic fragrant chemicals can legally be included in your detergent without your knowledge.3 These fragrance chemicals have been known to irritate skin and even exacerbate conditions such as asthma, but you are NOT required to know about their presence.
Similar to beauty products, the harm of these chemicals do not stop when you wash them down the drain.
